Quite a few years ago, my family travelled to Washington DC.  There was a lot of walking involved and the kids complained most of the time.  Last year my husband and I planned a weekend getaway, just the two of us, to our nation’s capital.  It happened to fall on Valentine’s weekend and it was spectacular.

We planned to do all the adult things that we could not do with kids (or teenagers).  It was romantic and beautiful.  The culmination of the trip was when we were seated at a cozy bistro for dinner on Valentine’s Day and it started snowing outside.  I almost cried, well I did cry a little.  I want to share my weekend getaway itinerary with you in hopes that you will enjoy it too.  This trip is a great weekend revival and the prices during January and February are really affordable.  You just need to time it right before any winter storms.
